1. I was inspired to join the CWG by my desire, in my older years, to have a hobby that fulfils my creative interests.
2. Making new things or designing new ways to make things is an aspect of woodworking that I have the most interest in.
3. I have learned something from almost every person whom I meet in the shop but when I’m stuck I use the following to seek help. For help on wood finishing Rod MacLeod. For fundamentals of wood characteristics Jim Merzetti. To make something simple and fancy Vaughn Fox. To recycle or repurpose wood Jacques Allard.. But if I need a dose of patience or a fresh way to approach a problem Ross MacKay. I really miss the wisdom and support Doug Sharpe provided me in the early days of my being a member.
4. When I first joined the CWG I worked on the “rising tide end table“ project to get involved and acclimated to the club.
5. Since joining the CWG I have worked hard on improving my patience and time management.
6. I believe what is most important to me that the club offers is a place and the facilities for me to explore my creative skills.
7. One of the biggest challenges I see for the club going forward is transitioning from a young, growing, enterprise focused on day to day financial survival, to a mature organization focused on meeting the needs of all members as well as those of the community.
8. Being part of this club has positively impacted my life by inspiring me to be a better person. Excited to take on new challenges and being supportive to others while they support me.
